‘Beauty in diversity’- Peace- building Workshop in RDA

A peace-building  workshop under the title ‘Beauty in Diversity’ has been held in Rural Development Academy, Bogra, Bangladesh from 30 September to 1 October, 2016. Twenty  Students from RDA Laboratory School and Ten students from Garidaha Dakhil Madrasa, participated in this workshop. This unique workshop was designed to educate children about religious diversity of Bangladesh so that they can grow up in a harmonious society. It was a project supported by King Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz  International Center for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (Vienna, Austria) and co-operated by Rural Development Academy, Bogra, Bangladesh. Mr. Abu Taher,  Assistant Professor in World Religions and Culture of Dhaka University, was one of the trainers of the workshop. The volunteers of the program participated from a local social organization ‘Alor Yatri’ ( The Vanguard of Light). The whole program was designed by KAICIID South-East  Asian Fellow Jannatul Maoa. The chief guest of Opening day was Mr. M A Matin, Director General of RDA . He said in his speech,  this kind of program should take place regularly; we should take steps to run this kind of project in bigger scale. On the first day of the program students learnt about various religions and culture of the world and various religious groups  of Bangladesh. On the second day students were taken to the religious sites for a visit. Students enjoyed religious and cultural diversity around them.
