RDA has a well-established internationally acclaimed Rural Plant Clinic Model. In the age of Digital Bangladesh RDA is in the process of Digitalizing the Rural Plant Clinic Model using mobile apps developed by mPower Social Enterprise. In this regard two day long training was held at the CDRC Bhaban of RDA during 22-23 October, 2016. Facilitated by mPower a total of 25 Participates (LSP) attended the training.

Director CDRC Dr. AKM Zakaria was present in the training programme as chairperson. Md. Khalid Aurongozeb, Deputy Director was the Course Director of the training programme and Ms. Rebeka Sultana, Assistant Director as Coordinator. Mr. Shamim and Suman Kumar were present as resource person from mPower.

Six mobile based apps were distributed among the participants to pilot the initiative in six different villages in Bogra including one Char village. Farmer’s quarries and crop diagnosis are the major components of this programme. It is expected that the new digital initiative will provide better plant health service to wider farmer community across the country.
